I went back to TJ Maxx/HomeGoods on Saturday to return the mirror that was too big, and they didn’t have the frames I liked from my visit last weekend. But they had some art I liked much better, and I think it looks great.
The store had some more nice jewelry, and I saw some necklaces that I thought Andrea might like. I was going to send her a picture but then realized I had left my phone in the car. I had Ren with me so didn’t want to run out and get it. Ren and I didn’t have a lot of time to shop, and I forgot to get the towels I wanted to get. H took Ren to the Mall of America this afternoon, so after Ree woke up from her nap this afternoon, I went back to the store. I basically tweeted out the whole jewelry case and bought stuff for my Twitter friends. Apparently no one else has the same great selection as my store does. What what!
You might think store employees would look at you like, “Hey, why the hell are you taking photos of a quarter of the jewelry counter, crazy lady?” But no. The people who worked at the jewelry counter seemed to have lost the will to live. I tried to joke with them and be friendly, but they were not interested. They preferred to remain sullen at all times. The employees in other parts of the store, however, did look at me like I was a crazy person, which is fine. I kind of was a crazy person.
Too bad for my Twitter friends, I didn’t offer to buy the best thing they had there. It was only $3.99, and it’s going in my kitchen.

Ummm….I love that chicken
Now THAT I would’ve wanted. I have mad bird love!!! So cute!
I bought that chicken in white for my mother in law. It is even cooler in gold. There should be a joke about laying golden eggs in here somewhere.
They had one in blue too that was pretty.
I love that chicken probably more than a person should. Great find!
I snortled at “they lost the will to live.” Hilarious and apt.
The artwork looks GREAT! And so does the rooster.
I don’t think we have a HomeGoods here, and the TJMaxx is a Marshalls. Unlike at your store, ours has nothing anyone would want to buy, but the employees are similarly suicidal.
Great, now I have to stop on my way home to look for a $4 chicken. Love the artwork and enjoyed all your crazy tweets yesterday!
I hope you found a chicken!
Yesterday was so fun! Thanks for tweeting your fab finds!
I was bummed I missed the tweeting/personal shopping. The red Cole Haan wallet was gorgeous. Sigh. I already have a Coach wallet I love, though, and don’t really need to spend $40 on a new one.
I love that chicken.
That chicken is awesome.
I was sort of trying to explain to my husband what was going on with my Twitter stream the other day and was like, “I’m guessing you don’t really have similar opportunities.”
If you ever find more Kate Spade jewelry, I want to be notified! I’ve checked our stores with NO LUCK!
