I fear that I may have frightened some of you with my list of things I should have said/ could have said/ wanted to say. Some of you commented that you thought this was liberating. Not for me really. I am so tempted to explain each of the things I listed in my last post. Especially after H told me that I am a “hidden ball of rage.” But I don’t think I am a ball of rage, and I am not going to explain myself.
So there you go.
Right now it is -10 degrees outside. NEGATIVE TEN. That does not count the windchill. I have to stop and get gas this morning, and it shall not be pleasant. But don’t worry because it is supposed to warm up to a balmy +1 degree later this afternoon. Minnesota, why must you do this to me?!
I am going to my first Timberwolves game tonight. I am thrilled since the Timberwolves have such a good record this year. They have won 8 games. And lost 36, but really, who is counting? Anyway, I am looking forward to the game because I have never been to the Target Center before and because I have tickets to a suite. Maybe someone famous will be in an adjoining suite. Maybe Prince loves the Timberwolves and goes to every game and has the suite next to mine. But even if I don’t meet Prince, the suite has free food, so I will be happy.
Oh, suite tickets are the best! They actually bring you drinks instead of you having to go GET them. Who knew such service existed?
Have fun!
After a record high in the 70s yesterday, we are now down in the 30s. It still feels warm, though, compared to the 15 degree weather we’d been experiencing. -10 sounds impossibly cold. You have my sympathies.
After reading your list the other day, I wrote my own. I don’t think I’ll post it as some of it turned out to be more personal than I care to get on my blog. Some of it was liberating, but some was frustrating as I wanted to actually say it to that person. Unfortunately, there are good reasons I didn’t say those things in the first place.
A “hidden ball of rage”. Hee!
Negative 10, huh. As I recall, this is about the time of year that that shit starts getting really old. Kind of like Aug/Sept in Texas.
Go T-Wolves!
Negative 10??? I guess I will have to stop complaining about Boston weather!
On The Today Show this morning, they were showing a waterfall in MN (I forget where exactly) that had completely frozen over. BRRRRRRR.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with being a hidden ball of rage.
I hope you get to meet Prince. Or that you at least get some good free food.
The End.
I am giggling at the thought of H calling you a hidden ball of rage.
When my alarm went off this morning, the guy on the radio was reporting that it was -30 (with windchill) outside. Yeah, THAT’s a great way to get me out of bed… Also, I need gas, too, and I’m really wishing full service were still an option. I’d gladly pay 50 cents extra to have someone else stand out in the cold for me.
I noticed that a lot of the stuff on that list was negative. But then I realized that that’s because most of the stuff that we can’t say is the negative stuff. So it makes sense that that would be on your list. I’m sure my list would be similar.
It is -45 here today. Before the wind chill.
Not that I am bitter.
I am raging right now just to think of how cold that is where you are. Damn!
I was all excited today because it was just warm enough to precipitate rain today. That is sad.
Great Scott! Negative ten! That is crazy. Why in the world did people settle in Minnesota in the first place?
I found your list very intriguing. I want to make such a list, too, but I am afraid that I would find it irresistable to tell the whole story, and nobody needs that.
I have been to my dad’s company’s suite at a Timberwolves game many times and let me tell you… if the game is boring (which it pretty much always is for me, not being a basketball fan), there are plenty of distractions–TV and food!
You should not have to apologize or explain! So there!
My husband has called me similar things.
But, I think anyone would be a justified ball of rage in negative 10 weather.
The weather is fantastic, no? Through no fault of my own I had to walk six blocks downtown without a hat or scarf this morning. By the time I made it to the building I couldn’t feel my legs and my eyelashes were frozen together. As my co-worker says, “this kind of weather keeps out the riffraff.”
Have a great time at the Wolves game – they’ve actually been winning lately so it might be fun! Listen carefully to the PA announcer. He’s my ex-boyfriend’s dad.
Hi R!
I just needed to commiserate with you about the temperature – I’m from up in Saskatchewan / Canada and it’s cold here too. Keep warm – cuddle up!
Have fun at the game! Suite seats are THE BEST.
A pro game is a pro game and you can enjoy the spectacle anyway. I miss living close enough to be part of a big city even when I was in a different state (lived in Northern Kentucky, supported Cincinnati pro sports). Buffalo isn’t too far away, but it just isn’t the same…
Dude! Wear purple. I heard he digs purple.
Also pancakes.
Hope you have a great time at the game!
Most people who grow up where we did move south. You moved north. Hmmm. Maybe that’s why you’re a hidden ball of rage.
Stay warm! (it’s going to be in the 40s here tomorrow. W00T!)
Yes, I am crazy. But it was 32 today!
Negative temps = not good. Brrrrrr! But snow on our commute home today is not fun either.
I immediately wrote my own list of things that I wished I could have said–or could not say for various reasons, most items on my list were negative as well.
How was the game? We go on Friday–no suite, but KG will be there!
